Background:

Dr. Ayrian received her medical degree from Medical Institute, Yerevan, Armenia. Dr. Ayrian immigrated to the United States and completed her residency training in Anesthesiology at LAC+USC Medical Center, Los Angeles, California. Later she was appointed to the Department of Anesthesiology at the USC Keck School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology, a position she has held continuously since. Dr. Ayrian’s clinical and related research interests are in the area of Neuroanesthesia with emphasis on Brain Protection, and Neurophysiologic Monitoring. She has published papers and abstracts, multiple comments to the articles in official Journal of Neurosurgery. Dr. Ayrian has participated in multicentral national research study Intraoperative Hypothermia for Intracranial Aneurism Surgery (IHAST). Dr. Ayrian is committed to the process of education. She has been giving lectures not only in her department, but also internationally. She remains actively involved in resident education and serves as a member of the Residents Educational Committee.
