Originally from New York’s Rockland County, Dr. Gitlitz migrated west to attend medical school at UCLA. After completing a fellowship in Translational Investigation at UCLA, where she had also been an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, she joined the Keck School of Medicine at USC. Dr. Gitlitz was recently awarded a “Super Doctor” honor by superdoctorsonline.com and serves as a reviewer for the peer reviewed medical publications, CANCER Journal, Head and Neck, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She has received over a half million dollars in research grants and was part of a team that invented a method for enhancing antigen-presenting cells and anti-tumor responses in human patients. Dr. Gitlitz has been invited to lecture at more than twenty five conferences all across California, as well as Brooklyn, NY and Phoenix, AZ. An accomplished author, Dr. Gitlitz has had over thirty articles published in peer reviewed medical journals and has contributed to a substantial amount of book chapters and abstracts.
