Background:

Dr. John Park is fellowship trained in interventional radiology and interventional oncology, with expertise in minimal-invasion therapies in the treatment of both vascular and oncologic diseases. He received his combined M.D., Ph.D. at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and completed a residency in clinical diagnostic radiology at the UCLA School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, where he also continued on for his fellowship training.

As a current assistant professor of interventional radiology and interventional oncology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, he is exploring novel basic and clinical research, including:

1) Development of novel therapies and screening protocols through translational approaches, specifically through the characterization of the molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis and understanding the basic biology underlying cancer, isolation of tumor-specific targets and pathways, and development and implementation of new targeted molecular therapeutics for clinical trials.

2) Molecular imaging using novel targeted therapeutics as molecular contrast reagents in ultrasound, PET/CT and PET/MRI fusion modalities.

3) Development and implementation of novel techniques and modalities in interventional oncology including tumor ablation and immune modulation.
