The Doctors of USC are renowned for their expertise in the field of neurology, providing comprehensive care for all neurological disorders, simple and complex. In addition to diagnosis and short-term care, our neurology team also provides personalized long-term management of chronic neurological diseases in a community-based, academic setting.
Specialty programs and centers include:
The USC Neuromuscular Program
Located at the Leslie P. Weiner Neurological Care and Research Center/USC University Hospital, this program provides an integrated approach to clinical diagnosis, neurophysiologic testing and treatment options for patients with various neuromuscular disorders. Services include clinical and diagnostic evaluation for patients with neuropathies, immune-mediated neuropathies, diabetic neuropathies and neuropathic pain. Highlights of the center’s specialized services include a state-of-the-art Neurophysiology Electromyography Laboratory for electrodiagnostic testing and an Infusion Center, often used for infusion therapy such as intravenous immunoglobulin therapy (IVIG).
USC Comprehensive Stroke Center
Using the latest medical, surgical and interventional techniques, the USC Comprehensive Stroke Center provides a wide range of services covering all aspects of stroke. Our team is prepared to deal with the needs of all stroke patients, from those experiencing a stroke requiring immediate treatment to those coping with the aftermath of a stroke or a stroke-related condition needing specialized follow-up care.
Adult Comprehensive Epilepsy Program
This program provides a full range of evaluation and treatment approaches for patients with epilepsy. Our goal is to find ways to treat patients with epilepsy on an individual and personalized basis while maximizing quality of life.
Multiple Sclerosis Comprehensive Care Center at the Keck School of Medicine of USC
We provide an academically based, client-centered program that provides outstanding medical care, rehabilitation and network support to multiple sclerosis patients, their families and caregivers. In addition, our academic setting allows us to provide our patients with access to drug treatment trials.
USC Geriatric Studies Center
The USC Geriatric Studies Center includes the Alzheimer's Research Center of California and the National Institute of Aging funded clinical program of the USC Alzheimer's Disease Research Center. We are staffed by USC faculty physicians with expertise in Alzheimer's disease and age-related memory loss. We provide evaluation, diagnosis and treatment recommendations; referral to caregiver services and support groups; and the opportunity to participate in clinical drug trials. We also provide evaluation for those who are experiencing the normal memory loss that occurs with age.
