Dr. Humayun and his work with retinal implants profiled on NBC

Mark Humayun, M.D., Ph.D., professor of ophthalmology, Keck School of Medicine of USC and the Doheny Eye Institute, was featured in an NBC Nightly News segment June 16 on the bionic eye project, designed to restore eyesight. Humayun demonstrated to NBC News chief science correspondent Robert Bazell how patients are able to see the outlines of faces and large objects thanks to a retinal implant.
